Sommers is proud to have earned the following certifications each of these certifications requires continuing education: TEXAS RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION COMMISSION has certified that Ashworth Construction, Inc. is Registered Builder # 2528 as of February 25, 2004. CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL BUILDING DESIGNER (CPBD) is the highest designation of the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD) as certified by the National Council of Building Designer Certification (NCBDC). To qualify for this credential an individual must first possess a minimum of six years of educational and professional design experience. After a thorough review of qualifications and testing the individual must also receive the approval of the Board of Examiners. To maintain this certification requires continuing education. Bruce A. Sommers, is Certified Professional Building Designer # 44465  and Professional Building Designer# 505. GRADUATE MASTER BUILDER (GMB) is for experienced veterans only, and is the ultimate symbol of the building professional. Before beginning the certification process and attending the advanced GMB courses, you must have ten years of building experience and have earned a Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) or Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR) designation.  To maintain this certification requires continuing education.  Bruce A. Sommers has earned this designation. CERTIFIED GRADUATE REMODELOR (CGR) is the only professional designation program in the industry emphasizing business management as the foundation of a successful remodeling operation.  The program is designed to improve business performance and to increase professional credibility.  At the same time, it provides consumers with a recognizable standard by which to evaluate the professionalism of remodelers.  To maintain this certification requires continuing education. Bruce A. Sommers is CGR # 846. CERTIFIED AGING-IN-PLACE SPECIALIST (CAPS) this designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry - homes modification for the aging-in-place.  The NAHB Remodelors Council - in collaboration with AARP, NAHB Research Center and NAHB Seniors Housing Council - developed this program to provide comprehensive, practical, market-specific information about working with older and maturing adults to remodel their homes for aging-in-place. To maintain this certification requires continuing education. One of the first in the nation, Bruce A. Sommers has earned this designation. CERTIFIED LEAD RENOVATOR is a certification that is required and will be enforced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for any builder working on any property that was built prior to 1978.  This means that this kind of project is going to cost more to test for lead and for the proper containment and documentation of a project with the presence of lead.
